A little bit about how it all began....
We started out as the "No-Name Loft Garage" in our home in 1980. We were only open on weekends due to the fact that we were professional women pursuing and honing our careers. Pat as an Athletic Director and Charlene as a high school educator.
Initially we sold factory seconds made by a famous manufacturer just 12 miles from us in Gardner, Massachusetts. Charlene's Dad (Raoul) was a Master Cabinet Maker for the company until it was sold in 1989. He was responsible for getting us our start in "the business".
October 1989 we built our 32 x 42 foot barn and said HELLO to "The Village Barn Country Furniture and Gift Shoppe". The rest, as they say, is history.
We began making our own primitive pieces and used local artisans and crafters to fill in the gaps. 40% of what we do is to make our products the way the customer likes it - including simple modifications to make a piece even more functional.
Our philisophy is...KEEP IT SIMPLE - KEEP IT GOOD!
